Originally constructed in 1925, The Captains' Inn Bed & Breakfast was brought into dry dock in 2007 for a major overhaul. Come listen as Captains, Barry and Tamara Spieler, spin you a tale of their adventures chasing pirates around the Caribbean. Each stateroom comes with the luxuries and comforts that ye land lovers require including televisions, DVD players and wireless Internet.

Come enjoy the grub at the Captains mess as Captain Tamara cooks you a breakfast fit for a king. With over 25 years of experience preparing meals aboard ships for royalty from around the world, you are bound to find some grub that will tantalize your taste buds.

Throughout the ship yard you will find adventures for everyone. Enjoy a game of chance in our fountain game lounge or curl up with a good tale of ole from our vast library's stock of books in front of our wood burning fireplace. Have a cup of coffee at the coffee bar while listening to some music in our large and comfortable salon. Socialize or relax while watching your favorite shows on our wide screen television in some of the most comfortable couches a pirate ship has ever seen.

Outside you will find all the favorite leisure activities enjoyed by the local inhabitants. Our crystal clear pool hits the spot on a hot summer's day. You will find a cabana with lounging chairs and a pool table. We also have a Jacuzzi, a seating area with a fireplace and a wedding gazebo surrounded by lush tropical foliage.

The Bed & Breakfast is a pet-friendly environment and within walking distance of beautiful historic downtown Mount Dora.

About The Captains

The Captains of the Captains’ Inn are Barry and Tamara Spieler. For the past twenty-five years they have been running and managing some of the finest mega yachts in the charter industry. Aboard these yachts they have entertained heads of state, movie stars, the rich and not so famous and are well acquainted with the hospitality business. Captain Tamara, in her twenty-five years as a professional charter yacht chef, has prepared meals ranging from a romantic gourmet dinner for two to sit-down dinner parties for sixty as well as the catering of weddings and social events.

We are located within one hour driving distance of most major attractions including: Walt Disney World, Sea World Universal Studios Florida, Orlando, Daytona, the beach, Silver Springs and Gainesville. We are within 1.5 hours of Busch Gardens, Tampa and Cape Canaveral.

The Captains' diverse knowledge make them the perfect couple to design, build and manage their dream, The Captains' Inn. They designed this adventure to be a fun and relaxing place for land and sea lovers alike.

Most recently, Captain Tamara cooked for Johnny Depp during the six weeks he was aboard ship while filming the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean” and for Mariah Carey for her birthday week get-away. Currently, her two cook books “Megayacht Cooking” and “Ship’s Bounty” are doing very well.
